Setup SermonClip

Install on your computer, then connect YouTube if you use Pro.

YouTube account connection, uploads, and description presets are SermonClip Pro features. The YouTube Settings panel remains visible on the Free plan, but these controls are locked until a Pro license is active.

Install SermonClip 2.0.0

Choose the installer for your computer on the Downloads page.

macOS

  1. Download the macOS DMG for an Apple silicon Mac running macOS 15 or later.
  2. Open the DMG and drag SermonClip.app to Applications.
  3. Eject the DMG, then open SermonClip from Applications.

SermonClip is distributed outside the Mac App Store. macOS may show a security warning the first time it opens. If it does, use System Settings → Privacy & Security to review the warning and allow the app only if the installer came from the official SermonClip Downloads page.

Windows 11

  1. Download the Windows 11 x64 installer.
  2. Run the installer and follow its prompts.
  3. Open SermonClip from the Start menu.

Homebrew support for macOS will be available once the 2.0.0 cask is published.

Connect your YouTube channel

  1. Open SermonClip and select YouTube Settings.
  2. Under Account Connection, choose Connect to YouTube.
  3. Complete the Google sign-in and consent screens in your browser.
  4. Select the church channel if Google asks which channel to use.
  5. Return to SermonClip and confirm that the channel name and ID appear.

During the first connection, Google may show an app safety notice saying that SermonClip has not been verified. This is a Google OAuth notice, separate from any operating-system security prompt. Only continue if you downloaded SermonClip from the official Downloads page.

Export and upload

  1. Select the opening and closing bumpers.
  2. Choose the full Sunday service recording.
  3. Set and confirm the sermon start and end points on the waveform.
  4. Import an SRT or generate subtitles, then review their timing.
  5. Choose the export folder and export name.
  6. Select MP4 and/or MP3. An adjusted SRT is exported when subtitles are present.
  7. To upload after export, enable Upload to YouTube after export and choose the available upload options.

Local exports do not require a connected YouTube account. Uploading requires the account connection described above. YouTube may restrict visibility or require additional authorization depending on the channel and Google’s current policies.

Updating SermonClip

On macOS, download the newer DMG, quit SermonClip, and replace the existing app in Applications. On Windows, run the newer installer. Your bumper library, description presets, export preferences, and saved YouTube authorization are stored separately from the app and are preserved across updates.

SermonClip also checks for updates when it launches and prompts you when a new release is available. You can also choose Check for Updates… from the app’s menu at any time.
